About Me

I received my Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education from Herbert H. Lehman College of the City University of New York. To my disappointment I did not have a chance to teach as New York City was laying off teachers at that time. After being a homemaker, wife and mother of two sons for twenty years I decided to go back to school at age 42. I received my Masters of Social Work Degree from Stony Brook University School of Social Welfare, Stony Brook, New York. I specialized in Alcoholism and Substance Abuse with an emphasis on Eating Disorders.

Upon graduating from Stony Brook University I worked art Crossings, an Alcoholism and Substance Abuse agency in Port Jefferson Long Island, New York. There I worked with adolescents as well as adults in group, individual and family therapy. After working there for two years I went into private practice. I had a thriving private practice for a little over ten years in New York . I gave up my private practice when I made a decision to move to Los Angeles. I opened up a practice in Santa Monica and I was there for twelve years.

Six years ago I decided to move to Florida where I currently reside and I am happy to be working as a therapist using zoom as my platform.

In September of 1999 I completed my certification in “Heart Centered Hypnotherapy” in order to have another avenue of helping my clients. I received my Clinical Hypnotherapist Certification from The Wellness Institute in Issaquah, Washington.

In June of 2003 I completed my certification in “Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing” (EMDR) in order to give my clients an added modality for healing their emotional wounds.

I consider myself an eclectic psychotherapist as I incorporate music, meditation, guided imagery and affirmations into my practice. As I have been through my own personal healing journey I have found that through all of these modalities I was able to transform myself from a caterpillar to a beautiful and magnificent butterfly. I came from a place of low self-esteem and being introverted to a place of high self-esteem and becoming extraverted. I believe that I’m bringing my years of invaluable personal experience to my clients. I know that if I was able to overcome my obstacles so can you. We all have our stories but we can transform. I love helping people and being a psychotherapist is the avenue that I have chosen to do so.

I look forward to working with each and every one of you and helping you on your journey to wellness, happiness and peace of mind.
